Adjusting the Low Pass Analog Filters on the SC-2043-SG

Hardware: Signal Conditioning Other>>SC Analog Accessories

Problem: The SC-2043-SG 8-channel strain gage signal conditioning accessory has built in low pass analog filters. What if I want to change the filter myself, say to lower the frequency band? Which capacitors and resistors do I replace?

Solution: Here are the reference designators of all the filter resistors and capacitors for each channel:

4                  C39                R39
5                  C37                R38
6                  C24                R26
7                  C26                R27

To calculate the cutoff frequency Fc of the filter, use: Fc = 1/(2piRC).

There is also an attached BMP file that illustrates this. Please note that custom modifications would void the manufacturer's warranty, but you should be able to solder devices to make these changes.
