Executable Not a Valid Windows CE Application

Hardware: Industrial Communications>>HMI and Industrial PC>>TPC-2006

Problem:
When I run my Windows CE executable I get the following error message:

Why am I getting this error and how can I fix it?

Solution:
There are several reasons why you may be getting this error. The two most commmon are:

1. You have selected the wrong touch panel target in the Project Explorer.
2. You have selected the wrong processor in the build specifications for the executable.

If you are using the TPC-2012 you must select TOUCH PANEL WINDOWS CE 4.2 Device. It must be the one in all caps. Even though it has Windows CE 5.0, you still must select this target. You also must select the x86 processor.
