NI PXI-103x Chassis Synchronization TroubleshootHardware: PXI/CompactPCI, PXI/CompactPCI>>Chassis>>PXI-1031
Problem: When I route synchronization signals on a NI PXI-103x I do not get the expected results. What is the problem? Solution: The NI PXI-103x chassis is different from all the other chassis in that it has a switch to enable the export clock to the backplane. This is stated o the manual page 1-8 (same page in all PXI-103x manuals attached below) but is usually overlooked: "You must manually switch SW1 on the chassis backplane to enable or disable routing an external clock to peripheral slots." This is why if you placed a Timing and Synchronization module on slot 2, the results may not be satisfactory. For more information please refer to the chassis manual.
