Converting Data After Upgrading From VI Logger 1.0 To 2.0 Causes VI Logger To Shut Down.Primary Software: Other NI Software>>VI LoggerPrimary Software Version: 2.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQmx
Problem: I updated from VI Logger 1.0 to VI Logger 2.0. When I try to open a VI Logger Task, an error message tells me that I need to convert data from previous versions, as shown below:
Solution: When you update Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) or VI Logger (which is tightly integrated with MAX), the configuration data sometimes becomes corrupted. If you absolutely need to save the current MAX configuration, you can try exporting it before you make the following changes. Now, go ahead and rename the data folder you find at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MAX. You can rename it to data2. You could also rename the 'data' folder at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\VI Logger. MAX will loose all data configuration when you do this. When you open MAX after you make the changes, it will take longer than usual to open. It will also take longer than usual to create your first VI Logger Task. If you do not need any information about the previous configuration for MAX and the old data for VI Logger, you can go ahead and delete the data2 directories. Note: VI Logger is no longer available for purchase. National Instruments recommends users to upgrade to NI LabVIEW SignalExpress.
