Cannot Access Signals such as Analog Output Through SCXI Backplane Communication in a PXI/SCXI Combination Chassis Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Chassis>>PXI-1050
Problem: I am using a PXI-1050 combination chassis with a supported MIO card in the right-most slot of the PXI system. I am trying to access the analog output signals from the MIO board by using an SCXI-1180 to read the signals through the SCXI backplane, but I am unable to get any readings from these signals. Solution: This is expected behavior. The following signals are the only lines that are connected through the backplane: Digital Lines: SER DAT IN SER DAT OUT DAQ D*/A SLOT0SEL* SCANCLK SER CLK HOLD TRIG See the SCXI-1520 manual, linked below, for a description of these signals. Analog Lines: ABUS0+ ABUS0- The extra channels on the DAQ device, including the analog output channels, are not sent across the backplane. However, you can still access the analog output lines from the front connector of the DAQ device, even when communicating with SCXI through the backplane. For another solution, you can use an SCXI-1349 adapter to gain access to the analog output signals.
