What Do I Do if the Activation Code I Received Did Not Work?

Primary Software: Other NI Software>>NI License Manager
Primary Software Version: 3.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
I completed the activation process and received a 20 digit activation code. However, when I try to apply the activation code, it does not work. What can I do?

Solution:
Activation codes are generated based upon the combination of product, serial number, version, and computer ID.

Ensure the correct information was entered. Verify:
  1. Computer ID
  2. Product - for example, LabVIEW and LabVIEW Remote Panels are not the same.
  3. Version
  4. Serial Number - for example, ensure that the serial number you enter is for the exact product you are activating.

If possible, use the Automatic activation method. This method doesn't require any manual data entry except for the serial number. This method does require an internet connection on the computer trying to activate. It will automatically install the activation code if the serial number matches the product.

If you were given an extended evaluation license file from National Instruments, in order to activate, you must replace the expiring license file with the default evaluation license files originally installed with the product. To do this, go to Drivers and Updates and browse by product to find the evaluation license files. Once you have replaced the expiring license file with the default evaluation license file, apply the activation code you already received or activate again.

If you have verified that the information was entered correctly but the activation code still fails, please contact NI Technical Support. See the Related Link below and click on Ask an Engineer. In the meantime, you can use the product in the evaluation mode.

Note: If you are using a migration serial number or a serial number for upgrading LabVIEW base to full development system, you have to install the most recent version of LabVIEW as of when the serial was issued.
