Why Do I Get the Error 32810 When I Run the FieldPoint VIs Embedded on the FP-20xx?

Primary Software: Driver Software>>FieldPoint Explorer
Primary Software Version: 2.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A
Hardware: FieldPoint>>Controllers/Network Modules>>FP-2000

Problem: I have a VI that uses FieldPoint VIs that will run on my host computer. However, when I try to use my FP-20xx as a target, I get error 32810 from the FP Open VI.

Solution: A VI that uses FieldPoint VIs that can be run from the host computer can also be run embedded on a FP-20xx. However some things change when a VI is run embedded. When using FieldPoint VIs on a host computer, the IAK file is used by the FP Open. When the VI is run embedded on a FP-20xx a ini configuration file is used instead. In general, you will not have to make any changes to the VI since the IAK path input to FP Open is ignored when the VI is run embedded. The comm resource name input to Create Tag.VI is also ignored since it is not relevant for a VI running embedded on a FP-20xx.

Usually the 32810 error is caused by the configuration file not being downloaded to the FP-20xx. The two ways to download the configuration file are:
    1. Open the IAK file in FieldPoint Explorer, check that Options>Download Configuration on Save is checked, and save the IAK file.
    2. Open the IAK file in FieldPoint Explorer, right-click on the communication resource (FP Res), and choose Download Configuration.
(For more information on downloading your configuration file using FieldPoint Explorer or Measurement and Automation Explorer, refer to the link below.)
Note: For either of these methods to work, the FP-20xx must be configured as one of the devices. There must be a Comm Resource as well as a Device for the FP-20xx. The best way is to create an IAK file is by creating the Comm Resource and then clicking on Find Devices.

Another possible cause is a corrupted or missing firmware or if the module was bootup in Safe Mode. To correct these causes:
    1. Make sure the module is not in Safe Mode.
    2. Redownloading the firmware.
Damage to or corruption of the file fplvmgr.dll in the FP-20xx can also cause this problem. There are two versions of this file, one is designed for the host computer and the other is for use on the FP-20xx. The one for use on the host resides (typically) in \vi.lib\FieldPoint\SubVIs. The one for use on the FP-20xx resides on the FP-20xx and will also be under C:\Program Files\National Instruments\RT Images\FieldPoint\x.x.xx\ (where x.x.xx depends on the version of the image). When you are building an executable to embed on the FP-20xx, there will be a dialog box saying that the target OS has it's own copy of the dll and it will not be downloaded. This normally makes over-writing of the dll unlikely but this does not prevent a user from over-riding the warning and downloading the wrong file. To correct this, you can redownload the firmware or ftp the correct dll to the FP-20xx.
