Does the CompactRIO 9215 Module Have Anti-Alias Filters? Hardware: CompactRIO>>Analog Input Modules>>NI 9215, CompactRIO>>Analog Input Modules>>NI 9233
Problem: We recently purchased several cRIO NI 9215 modules together with a cRIO NI 9233 module. I was looking for information on the anti-alias filters and I found that the 9215 does not have anti-alias filter and the 9233 does. Why does the cRIO-9215 module not have anti-alias filters? Which modules are available for cRIO technology with anti-alias filters? Solution: Currently the 9233, 9239 and 9229 are cRIO module that feature anti-alias filters on its inputs. The 9233 module was designed for very high-accuracy sound and vibration measurements for which anti-aliasing filters are a necessity, and so it has a higher resolution, AC coupling, and anti-aliasing features. The 9215, however, is a more general-purpose module, suitable for many applications that do not require anti-aliasing, so it includes the speed that customers ask for as well as a much lower cost than the 9233. It is possible, however, to implement your own low-pass (anti-aliasing) filter external to the 9215 module with your own hardware.
