Link Instruments Device Not Working with Link Software after LabVIEW InstallPrimary Software: LabVIEW SignalExpress>>Development SystemPrimary Software Version: 1.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: After I install LabVIEW and the NI-VISA drivers I can no longer use my DSO-8000 scope from Link Instruments with the software it came with; the software gives the error device not available. Also now when I plug in my USB Link device I am asked if I want to use it with SignalExpress/LabVIEW. How do I get my device working with my old software again? Solution: The Link DSO-8000 falls into a class of devices that the NI-VISA driver automatically associates with so that it can be used by NI software. To restore operation with the Link Instruments software, go to the windows device manager and locate your USB device.
Right-click your DSO-8000 device and select Properties. In the properties window click Update Driver. Now point to and install the original Link Instruments drivers that came with the DSO-8000. This will free your device from NI-VISA so that you can use it with the Link Instruments software.
