Why Do I Receive an Error When Installing Measurement Studio 8.5 with Hardware Library Support?

Problem:

Why do I get Error 2: Failed to perform action NI-DAQmx Integration for Visual Studio 2008 Setup when I install Measurement Studio 8.5 for Microsoft Visual Studio 2008?

Solution:

This error occurs if you are trying to install Measurement Studio 8.5 support for Visual Studio 2008, but either do not have Visual Studio 2008 installed or only have Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition installed. Visual Studio Integration support is selected to be installed by default for hardware libraries in the feature tree for the installer, even if Visual Studio is not installed or if an Express Edition is installed.

You can resolve this error by expanding the VS2008 Driver Support tree item, and then select Do not install this feature for each of the integration features.
