Get Relay Count for Unlimited Mechanical Life Relays

Hardware: Switches>>Multiplexer/Matrix>>PXI-2536, Switches>>Multiplexer/Matrix>>PXI-2535, Switches>>Multiplexer/Matrix>>PXI-2534, Switches>>Multiplexer/Matrix>>PXI-2533

Problem:
If the new FET (PXI 2533/2534) and SSR (PXI 2535/2536) switch modules state that they have unlimited relay life, what is the meaning of the Get Relay Count value?

Solution:
The niSwitch Get Relay Count VI and the niSwitch_GetRelayCount function will return the current value of a 32 bit register.  Once this register has incremented to its maximum value it will roll over and restart at zero. This means the value returned is not reliable as an absolute relay count.

The relay count can be used as a relative relay count. For instance, capture the relay count at the start of a program, and then at the end of the program and the difference is the number of relays that were actuated during the life of that program.
