Error -1074388479 With the NI-9853 Module for CompactRIO

Hardware: Industrial Communications>>CAN>>NI 9853

Problem:
I am running one of the shipping examples for the NI-9853 module, and I get  Error -1074388479. What does this error mean, and how do I get rid of it?

Solution:
This error means that the NI-CAN driver is unable to find the channels you are using in your program. The NI-CAN driver requires you to explicitly download your channels to the 9853 modules from Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX), and if you don't, you get the error. To download the channels to your 9853 module, follow the steps below:

1. Open MAX and expand the "Data Neighborhood" tree
2. Right-click on "CAN Channels" and select "Send to RT System"
3. In the dialog box that pops up, enter the configuration you want to send and the IP address of your CompactRIO controller
4. Enter the user name and password if any, and click on "Send"

Now you should be able to compile and run your VI again without the error.
