What Does "The specified folder does not contain the correct volume." Message Mean?

Problem:
When trying to install National Instruments software I receive a Message that says "The specified folder does not contain the correct volume." What does this mean?

Solution:
When installing National Instruments software, you may receive a pop-up window similar to the image below. This window states "The specified folder does not contain the correct volume." This message appears when the software you are attempting to install or one of its associated components is already installed on the computer. You should be able to click on Later and proceed with your install as normal. The software installation will skip the existing components and continue with any other install.
