Can I Use an E Series DAQ Board to Drive an SSR Relay Module?

Hardware: Signal Conditioning Other>>SSR Series

Problem: Can I use an E Series data acquisition (DAQ) board to drive an SSR relay module?

Solution: Yes, you can. The deciding factors are the minimum current levels needed to drive SSR modules. The E Series DAQ boards can provide enough current to drive the relays, but if you are using a non-E Series DAQ board, then you may need to provide an external 5 Volt power supply.

Here are the minimum current requirements for the SSR modules:
    SSR-OAC-5/A: 12 mA
    SSR-ODC-5: 2 mA
Output current from E Series DIO line: -13 mA (at 5 Volts)
