How Can I Connect AC Signals to my [c]FP-DI-330?Hardware: Compact FieldPoint>>Discrete I/O Modules>>cFP-DI-330, FieldPoint>>Discrete I/O Modules>>FP-DI-330
Problem: The [c]FP-DI-330 user manual rates the input range of the module for AC signals up to 240 VAC. How can I connect these signals and how do they work? Solution: AC signals should be connected across inputs INa and INb for each channel. AC signals, especially high level signals such as 110VAC line voltages, should never be connected to the Vsup or COM terminals. These terminals are for use with TTL digital circuitry and the connector blocks or [c]FP-DI-330 itself can be damaged by high-level AC signals. The module will indicate a logic "high" on any channel with an AC signal above 50Hz frequency and 1VAC magnitude. For more information please consult the operator's manual linked below.
