Why Does My Switch Not Connect When I Call a Connect/Disconnect in a TestStand Step?

Problem: I insert a step in a TestStand sequence file and select the switching tab from the properties of the step. I select a route I made with Switch Executive. I select the same path to connect and disconnect to determine how fast TestStand will make calls to the switch. I have a mechanical relay switch so that I can hear the switches open and close. When I run the TestStand, the sequence runs but never closes the switches. Why is it not making function calls to the switch?

Solution: When the driver sees that you are connecting and disconnecting the same path, the second command negates the first and nothing happens.
The recommended way to open and close a path is set the life of the connection to the step. When the step completes, the path will be disconnected. Another solution is to separate the connect and disconnect into two steps.
