PXI Serial Ports in Measurement & Automation Explorer

Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Controllers

Problem:
I am not sure if my PXI serial card is properly installed. I can see all of my DAQmx devices under Devices and Interfaces in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX), but I can't see my serial card. Where will this device appear once it is properly configured and ready to use?

Solution:
Additional serial cards will be located under Devices and Interfaces as their own group as seen in the following picture.

If your card does not appear under Devices and Interfaces as shown above, make sure that you have the NI-Serial driver installed on your machine. You can download the latest version of NI-Serial by following the "Drivers and Updates" link in the "Related Links" section of this document. Choose the product line "Serial" and the software "NI-Serial," then pick the most recent version available for your OS.
