NI PXI-5650/5651/5652 RF Signal Generator Power Level Fluctuates When Using NI PXI-1000B ChassisHardware: Modular Instruments>>RF Measurement Devices>>PXI-5650
Problem: I am seeing a power level fluctuation of up to 0.2 dB while using my NI PXI-5650/5651/5652 in a NI PXI-1000B chassis. My fan is set to high. Solution: When using a NI PXI-5650/5651/5652 in a NI PXI-1000B chassis, the power level may fluctuate by up to 0.2 dB, depending on the fan setting being used. This has been known to occur when the chassis fan is set to the “high” setting. The solution is to either use the “low” fan setting or use another chassis. The same NI PXI-5650/5651/5652 has been tested in a NI PXI-1042 chassis with no abnormal fluctuations in output power. Thus, switching to a NI PXI-1042 chassis should solve the problem. The two attached images show the NI PXI-5650/5651/5652 output with the low and high fan settings.
