PXI Temperature MonitorHardware: PXI/CompactPCI
Problem: Is there an application available to monitor and display the temperature of my PXI system? Solution: There is no application included with the PXI systems which monitors and displays temperature. However, the NI System Monitor is a free API which can be used to programmatically monitor many operating parameters of PXI chassis/controllers. The NI System Monitor can be used to develop a custom application. For example, you could simply display the intake temperature of the chassis and log it to a file. Another example would to sound an alarm in case of a fan malfunction. If you are looking for a general application, you can download the attached executable. This executable can be used to display temperature, fan speed, voltage, CPU info and CPU usage of a PXI system. Note: You will need to install the LabVIEW 8.6 Runtime Engine and the NI System Monitor to run the executable. Note: System Monitor 1.0 supports PXIe-1065, PXIe-1062, PXIe-8130, PXIe-8106, PXIe-8105, PXI-8106, PXI-8105 Related Links: Developer Zone Tutorial: Reliability Attachments:
