GPIB Timeout Error on Every Other Command Set Hardware: GPIB>>Plug-in Controllers>>PCI-GPIB
Problem: I am writing to and reading from a GPIB instrument, and every other command set returns a timeout error. For example, I can write once and then read once, but then when I try to write and read again, my program reports a timeout error. Solution: This may be due to a communication loop in your instrumentation, in which case eliminating the loop will solve the problem. For example, if you have a cable connecting your GPIB board to an instrument, another cable connecting the first instrument to a second instrument, and a third cable connecting the second instrument back to the GPIB board, you have a communication loop.
