Run-Time Error 48 When Calling a GPIB Function in Visual Basic

Problem:
I installed the GPIB-USB-A on my Windows 2000 PC. It installs, tests, and locates an instrument correctly. When I run a sample Visual Basic application, I get the following error message: Run time error '48': File not found Gpib-32.dll.

Solution:
The problem is caused when a third-party VISA driver replaces the NI-VISA driver. Remove the third-party VISA software (for example, VISA32.DLL) and reinstall NI-VISA and NI-488.2 (GPIB driver software), which are available for download from our Drivers and Updates software library (linked below).
