Problem: I have a CVI application that uses a large number of Lab Style Controls. When I open up the user interface (.uir), the refresh rate for my screen becomes very slow. I have an old video card with very little memory. Is there anything I can do to improve the performance? Solution: You can try to replace the Lab Style Controls on your panel with Classic Style Controls that ship with CVI. Classic Style Controls require fewer resources from your video card to render them, thus improving the refresh rate of your screen. The option Convert UI to Lab Style under the Tools control bar will not convert Lab Style Controls to Classic Style. In order to convert Lab Style Controls to Classic Style Controls, each Lab Style control has to be manually replaced with its Classic Style counterpart. You can find Classic Style Controls under the Create»Classic-Style Controls menu.
