Problem: I am looking at the product page for my NI PCI/PXI 843x device, and it lists the maximum baud rate as 3Mb/s. However, the User Manual/Specifications document for this devices claims that the maximum baud rate is only 2Mb/s. Which resource is correct? Solution: The limits specified in these locations were each accurate at the time the document was produced. Over time, the efficency of the NI-Serial driver has been improved to allow for faster baud rates to be utilized with the 843x series hardware. The actual maximum speed is determined by the version of NI-Serial which is being used.
