Problem: I have a LabVIEW application that uses a PCMCIA DAQCard-AI-16E-4. I have multiple DAQCards that I am using with the same LabVIEW application. When I shut down my laptop and insert another DAQCard-AI-16E-4 into the same PCMCIA slot of my laptop and then run my application, I receive error -10401. Solution: NI-DAQ uses the serial number, product number, and socket number to enumerate PCMCIA data acquisition (DAQ) devices. When changing between DAQCards, Windows might not recognize the new card as new hardware. Therefore, NI-DAQ assumes the previous DAQCard-AI-16-E-4 is still in the laptop, so you receive an error when you run the LabVIEW application. To avoid this error, make sure you open Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) and refresh the configuration tree after swapping the DAQCards. You can refresh the configuration tree by pressing the <F5> key or by selecting View»Refresh. Refreshing ensures that NI-DAQ recognizes the new DAQCard. Related Links: Attachments:
