Problem: I am installing Multisim 9 or Ultiboard 9 and the installer crashes with the following error message (see picture attached): ------------------------------------------------------------- Error Number: 0x80040706 Description: Object Reference Not Set Setup will now terminate ------------------------------------------------------------- How can I fix this? Solution: This is a InstallShield error. In order to fix this problem you have to follow InstallShield KB instructions, the InstallShield Support Website has good information on how to solve it. The specific problem that this KB addressed was solved by looking at: InstallShield KB Q110641 InstallShield KB Q108322 When you read the above arcticle, it will ask where the setup.exe file is located. For Multisim, you can find it in the CD Drive shipped with the product, then look in the folders: \fscommand\msminst\setup.exe Resolving this issue involves downloading an updated InstallShield to your computer.
