Problem: I have a NI USB-6009 OEM and I would like to integrate the board into a system without using the USB cable to transfer data. Can I use the NI USB-6009 OEM without a cable connection? Where do I connect ground to the board? Solution: The NI USB-6009 uses the USB cable to transfer data to and from the PC. The USB cable provides D+ and D- data lines, supplies power (VBUS), and grounds the board to the PC. The NI USB-6009 OEM makes these signals available on the I/O connector of the OEM device. These lines allow you to use the board without a USB connector. National Instruments recommends that you connect your ground to the NI USB-6009 OEM D GND pins.
