How Can I Make an Old Network Installer Work With a New Product Version in my Volume License File?

Primary Software: Other NI Software>>NI Volume License Manager
Primary Software Version: 2.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
I made a Network Installer (now called Volume License Installer) for one of the products on my Volume License Agreement. Since then, I have received a new license file which has a newer version of that product. When my clients run the Network Installer, the automatic permission request cannot be accepted into NI VLM because the version is different. Do I have to create a new Network Installer or is there another way to keep using the existing Network Installers?

Solution:

For versions of VLM less than 2.0.0.75, Network Installers that automatically request permissions will only work if the version requested matches the exact version in the license file. However, in VLM 2.0.0.75, permission requests can be accepted if the version of the permission request is less than or equal to the software version in the license file. This means that if you are using NI VLM 2.0.0.75 or above, previously created Network Installers will work with new versions in your volume license file and you will not have to create new Network Installers.

You can update to newer versions of Volume License Manager for free.  If you follow this link and download VLM 2.1.1 you will be able to take advantage of the updated functionality.
