LabVIEW VI Analyzer Toolkit 1.0 Does Not Work Properly with LabVIEW 8.0

Problem: I am using the LabVIEW VI Analyzer Toolkit 1.0 with LabVIEW 8.0, and I am encountering one of the following problems. Is there a newer version of the toolkit, and if so, what versions of the toolkit are compatible with what versions of LabVIEW?

  • Some VI Analyzer tests highlight what appear to be internal wires on a Timed Loop.

  • The Wait in While Loop test returns a 1055 or 1058 error when I analyze VIs that contain a Timed Loop.

  • The Hidden Objects in Structures test highlights what appear to be non-hidden items in a Timed Loop.

  • The Platform Portability test does not highlight new Windows-only features in LabVIEW 7.1, such as Timed Loops, Bluetooth VIs and functions, or Storage VIs.

  • The Hidden Tunnels test does not detect hidden tunnels on the borders of Flat Sequence structures.

  • The Front Panel tests do not analyze radio button controls accurately.

  • The Backwards Wires test returns a 1003 error (test not executable).

  • The Wires Under Objects test returns a 1055 error (Object reference is invalid) for all analyzed VIs.

  • The Unused Code and Error Style tests return a 1092 (Invalid Class Operator VI) for all analyzed VIs.

  • The Arrays and Strings in Loop test returns a 1055 error (Object reference is invalid) for some analyzed VIs.

  • VIs opened from the Analyzer UI or results window open in a private application instance.

  • Some Front Panel tests do not report accurate results on VIs that have splitter bars.

  • Some Block Diagram tests do not report accurate results on VIs that have Timed Sequences.


Solution: There were significant changes in LabVIEW 8.0 that caused the VI Analyzer 1.0 to not function properly. The VI Analyzer Toolkit 1.1 release resolves all of the above issues for LabVIEW 8.0 users on all platforms. The VI Analyzer Toolkit 1.1 also provides increased speed of analysis and adds several new tests, including a Spell Check test, Wired Terminals in Subdiagrams (performance) test, and a Built Application Compatibility test. Furthermore, the VI Analyzer Toolkit 1.1 includes an enhanced programmatic interface with more functionality for both beginning and advanced users.
