Why is the Status Light on My cFP Controller Blinking Four Times?

Problem:
I am trying to configure the IP settings on my FieldPoint embedded controller. Upon rebooting the controller to enable the new settings, the Status light now blinks four times.

Solution:
This behavior can occur when one specifies an incorrect default gateway when configuring the Network Settings of the FieldPoint controller in Measurement and Automation Explorer.

The default gateway is what links the host's subnet to other networks. As such, if one specifies an incorrect default gateway, the host might not be able to communicate with targets on remote networks. Specifically, if a single physical network has more than one router (for example, one router is configured for an internal TCP/IP network and another router is connected to the Internet), one must ensure that the internal network router is assigned as the default gateway.

Moreover, because the default gateway is what links the host to destinations on other remote networks, it is imperative that the host and default gateway are located on the same subnet.
