Measurement Studio Help Does Not Appear in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET

Problem:
I have Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003, 2005 or 2008 and recently installed Measurement Studio 7.1 or later. The NI Measurement Studio Help does not appear in the Contents of the Help even though Measurement Studio is in the list of installed products in the About Microsoft Development Environment dialog box. How do I get the NI Measurement Studio Help included in the Visual Studio .NET Help?

Solution:
For Visual Studio .NET 2003:
Visual Studio .NET 2003 has a Combined Help Collection (VSCC) that determines which Help Collections are included in the Help. If you have installed the Help for Measurement Studio for Visual Studio .NET and an MSDN Library, then you have at least two collections of help files.

To solve the problem described above, you will want to check two things. First, make sure the Combined Help Collection is being used by Visual Studio .NET. Second, check that NI Measurement Studio Help is included in the Visual Studio .NET Combined Help Collection.

To make sure the Combined Help Collection is being used by Visual Studio .NET:
  1. In Visual Studio .NET, go to Tools»Options.
  2. Under Environment»Help, select Visual Studio .NET 2003 Combined Help Collection as the preferred collection.
  3. Press OK.
  4. Restart Visual Studio .NET and check Help»Contents for NI Measurement Studio Help.
If NI Measurement Studio Help still does not appear in the contents, check that NI Measurement Studio Help is included in the Visual Studio .NET Combined Help Collection. To do this:
  1. Either search in Help»Index for Combined Help Collection Manager or put the following URL in the address bar in Visual Studio .NET:
    ms-help://MS.VSCC.2003/VSCCCommon/cm/CollectionManager.htm
  2. Check the list of Collections available for inclusion in VSCC. If NI Measurement Studio Help is not selected, select it and press the Update VSCC button.
  3. Restart Visual Studio .NET and check Help»Contents for NI Measurement Studio Help.
If these two sets of instructions do not work to have the NI Measurement Studio Help included, or if you notice that NI Measurement Studio Help did not appear in the Visual Studio .NET Combined Help Collection Manager, double-check that you installed the Help when installing Measurement Studio.

For Visual Studio .NET 2005 & 2008:
  1. Go to Tools»Options
  2. Under Environment»Help»Dynamic Help verify that NI Measurement Studio Help is checked. If it is not an option you will need to reinstall Measurement Studio.
  3. Close dialog boxes and restart Visual Studio 2005
