Problem: I need more precision in my tuning parameters. Is there a way I can use fractional PID parameters or get more precision with my PID parameters? Solution: The NI-Motion driver only supports integer values for PID loop parameters. However, you can try increasing the Control Loop update period. This will slow the rate of the PID loop for servo motion control which will require you to enter larger PID values giving you a wider range of values for your PID parameters. In many cases, this has the same effect as applying fractional PID parameters.
