Trouble Downloading Drivers from ni.com

Problem:
I get an error when I click to download an instrument driver from the Instrument Driver Network. Is there another way to download these drivers?

Solution:
Some customers have trouble accessing instrument drivers for a number of different reasons, including corporate and personal firewalls or network restrictions. In some cases, there may be no trouble downloading hardware drivers, such as DAQmx or VISA, but any instrument drivers will see this behavior.

Normally the reason for this is that the link from the Drivers and Updates page goes straight to a location on ftp.ni.com, while the Instrument Driver Network links go through an http redirect through sine.ni.com.

If you are having trouble with this, but you are still able to access our ftp site, then you will probably be able to download our drivers with the following method:

  1. Browse to the driver download on the Instrument Driver Network

  2. Copy the path to the link to the clipboard
    Internet Explorer: Right click the link and click “Copy Shortcut”
    Firefox: Right click the link and click “Copy Link Location”

  3. Paste the link into notepad. It should be something similar to:
    http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niet_download_id.log_ids?p_profile_id=1383062&p_doc_id=
    E3B19B3E948D659CE034080020E74861&p_app_id=1&p_url=ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/
    idnet/E3B44279A0810F43E034080020E74861/eip114x.zip

  4. Copy out only the part after “url=”. For the above example, this would be
    ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/idnet/E3B44279A0810F43E034080020E74861/eip114x.zip

  5. Paste this link back into your browser and press enter to go to that link.

  6. The download should begin.
