When Should I Use the CompactDAQ Firmware Update Utility?

Problem: I have a CompactDAQ-9172 chassis and DAQmx 8.7.x or before. Should I use the CompactDAQ Firmware Update Utility?
Solution: The CompactDAQ Firmware Update Utility addresses a few specific issues:
- New requirements for the NI 9225 modules.
- Intermittent Error -200019 with the NI 9201/9221 in rare cases.
- Bad data with the NI 9201/9221 in rare cases.
- Missed samples on NI 9234s in rare cases.
The update utility is only needed for DAQmx 8.7.x and earlier and CompactDAQ chassis revision E and earlier. The update is automatically applied in later versions of DAQmx and chassis. If you do not have one of the affected modules, you can still apply the firmware update – it is compatible with all modules and will not cause a change in behavior.
