Importing User Account and Password Information To Other Computers In LookoutPrimary Software: LookoutPrimary Software Version: 5.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software:
Problem: I have developed a Lookout system that uses serveral client/server computers across a network and I'd like them to all have the same user account and password information for security purposes. I have configured desired user groups and accounts on my primary development/server system but how do I import these settings to other computers with Lookout? Solution: As discussed in chapter 10 of the Lookout Developer's Manual (linked below) there are several Lookout files that are important for the implementation of security. The processname.lka file is used to store the security information for objects in individual processes. This is generated when the process file is saved, and must be kept in the same folder as the processname.l4p file. Overall Lookout local/user interface information is also important when securing basic authentication between different computers on the network. The user groups and accounts configuration is stored in the lookout.sec file and should be copied to the Windows System directory on every computer on which you intend to run Lookout. For more information, please reference the Security chapter in the Lookout Developer's Manual. Related Links: Lookout Developer's Manual Attachments:
