Solution

This error can occur due to multiple different reasons. However, the troubleshooting steps to fix the most common reasons for this error are presented below.
  • Power-cycle your hardware and computers. This issue has been reported to be fixed with a reset of the devices after a NI-DAQmx update. Kindly have a look at the Methods for Rebooting NI Real-Time Targets.
  • Remove all the modules from the cDAQ, and inspect connectors for any bent or broken pins. If there are bent pins, attempt to move them as straight as possible even if you are not using that slot. Reseat cDAQ modules and make sure it is not bending any pins.
  • Back up your MAX configuration data and reset the MAX database, then retry a self-test of the device.
  • Upgrade or reinstall your NI-DAQmx driver.  If the data acquisition or signal conditioning cards that are giving the error are located in a remote system, ensure that the appropriate drivers are added to the remote controller as well.  It is possible that your driver has become corrupted and either a fresh install or upgrading the driver should resolve the issue. See Installing, Updating, Repairing, and Removing NI SoftwareRepair Software in NI Package Manager (NIPM).
  • Some USB DAQ devices might produce an error -224609 when used with a USB hub on a Windows 10 computer. In that case, you should plug your USB DAQ device directly into the computer without going through an external USB hub.
  • Contact NI Support for further troubleshooting as your device might be damaged and need to be replaced or repaired.
