Can you do Both Waveform and Single Point Update at the Same Time on the Analog Outputs of a PCI-672x? Hardware: Signal Sources (AWG/FG/AO)>>Analog Output Devices>>PCI-6723
Problem: Consider I have 20 Outputs configured as Waveform Output. In this setup, is it possible to configure the remaining outputs as Single Update outputs? Solution: No, this is not possible. The PCI-6722 or PCI-6723 has one or four, respectively, octal DAC chips (U4, U11, U22, U29), for 8 or 32 analog outputs. This DAC is capable of both immediate and later updates to the outputs. Since all eight channels in the DAC chip will update at the same time when using an external update strobe, there are interesting design considerations that must be made when using these DACs. Unlike other DAQ-STC-based boards, it is not possible to have a waveform operation on one DAC while another is actively using single-point mode.
