GPIB-ENET/100 Does Not Show Up in Add GPIB Hardware Wizard

Hardware: GPIB>>External Controllers/Convertors>>GPIB-ENET, Instrument Connectivity Other>>Ethernet>>GPIB-ENET

Problem:
While following the instructions to install the GPIB-ENET/100, Windows prompts me with with the Add New GPIB Hardware Wizard, and I see PCI-GPIB and other PCI/ISA cards in the list. Why don't I see GPIB-ENET/100 in the list?

Solution:
This is usually a result of having an out-of-date version of the NI-488.2 driver installed on your computer. Check to ensure that you are using the latest driver for the ENET/100 and your operating system. NI-488.2 drivers are distributed with LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI, as well as with the GPIB hardware, so it is possible that other PCI-GPIB cards were installed using an older version of the driver. The proper procedure for adding a GPIB-ENET/100 to a system that already contains a PCI-GPIB or other card with an older version is as follows:

1. Uninstall your old 488.2 driver version from Control Panel » Add/Remove Programs » National Instruments Software
2. Physically remove your GPIB card from your computer
3. Install the newer version of NI-488.2 that came with the GPIB-ENET/100 or that you've downloaded from the Drivers and Updates support page (see related links below) 
   
4. Reinsert your GPIB card into your computer. Upon the next Windows startup, it should be detected by Windows
5. Setup your GPIB-ENET/100. It should at this point appear in the list for the Add New GPIB Hardware Wizard.
