Restoring Lost VI Logger Data Primary Software: Other NI Software>>VI LoggerPrimary Software Version: 1.1.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: My VI Logger data appears to be corrupt. I cannot view any of this data in Measurement and Automation Explorer. Is there any way to restore this data? Solution: Very rarely, a VI Logger database will not correctly display the saved information. In some cases it will display a blank graph with no data. The time scale will be correct, but no data will be logged onto the graph. Most often this occurs when one of the VI Logger files was not saved correctly. In some special cases it is possible to restore this old VI Logger data. Within the National Instruments\VI Logger\data folder there are several .shm files that contain information regarding the settings saved with the VI Logger data. When these files are deleted, MAX will recreate each one using appropriate settings for the original data. By deleting these files, it is sometimes possible to restore otherwise lost VI Logger data.
