How do I Rack Mount my PPC-2015 Panel PC or FPT-1015 Flat Panel Touch Screen?

Problem:
I have purchased a PPC 2015 Panel PC or a FPT-1015 Flat Panel Touch Screen and I would like to mount it in a rack.  It came with some brackets, but no instructions.  How do I do this?


Solution:
First make sure you have all the necessary hardware to rack mount PPC-2015 or FPT-1015.  The unit comes with mounting brackets, but there is an additional mounting kit that must be ordered as well.  Here is a list of the part numbers that need to be purchased in order to have all the necessary parts. 

For the PPC-2015, you need:
 779562-01  PPC-2015 15in Panel PC w/touch screen (Comes with brackets)
 779574-01  Rack Mount Kit for PPC-2015

For the FPT-1015, you need:
 779560-01  FPT-1015 15in. Flat Panel Touch Screen (Comes with brackets)
 779572-01  Rack Mount Kit for FPT-1015

The brackets pictured below are the brackets that are included with the PPC-2015 and the FPT-1015.  



Once you have all the required hardware, follow these steps:
  1. Disconnect all cables and wires and slide the mounting plate over the back of the unit as shown below.



  2. Insert the heads of the 2 screws into the appropriate slots on the side of the unit.  The following 2 pictures show how this step should be completed. 





  3. The spring loaded screw should be tightened next and should put pressure on the back of the mounting plate.  The pressure from this screw should hold both the mounting plate and mounting bracket in place.   

     

  4. The mounting plate has the appropriate holes so that it can mounted to the rack.  Insert the unit into a rack and mount it using compatible screws for the rack system.  These screws are not included in the rack mount kit.

In contrast to the PPC-2015, the PPC-2115 is panel mount only and does not have a rack mount kit available. The PPC-2115 kit includes the necessary equipment to panel mount the touch panel; there is not a seperate kit with mounting hardware.
