What is the LabVIEW image display control, how do I use it, and what versions of LabVIEW and NI-IMAQ are required to use it?
The image display control is a LabVIEW front panel control that alows the user to display the IMAQ image data type. This control installs with NI-IMAQ 2.6 and later, and can be used with LabVIEW 7.0 later. Vision Development Module is not needed to use the image display control.
The image display control allows the user to display information about the image, change the current view of the image, and create a region of interest.
The toolbar on the left-hand side of the image display contains 13 tools that can be used to change the display of the image and draw various regions of interest (ROIs).
The image display control can also display information about the current image, view, and ROI. The image information display is located below the image display and displays five elements.
The visual appearance of the image display control can be changed by right-clicking on the control on the front panel. The Visible Items category allows the user to display the Label, Caption, Scrollbars, Tools, and Image Information.
The Snapshot option gives the user the ability to display the image after the image has been disposed with IMAQ Dispose.
The Save Image... option allows the user to save the displayed image as a PNG, Bitmap, JPEG, or TIFF image.
