Problem: How can I edit the instances and attributes of an ASAM-ODS data source?

Solution: Enclosed with this article you will find a packed file that includes two VBS scripts and two SUD dialog boxes. To run the script, complete the following steps :
  1. Unpack the files to a folder.
  2. Open the InstanceEditor.vbs file in the DIAdem SCRIPT editor.
  3. Click Run Script to execute the script.

The script opens a dialog box where you can select and open any data source that DIAdem supports, for example, an ATF/XML file or an AOP server. When you select a data source, the example opens a data navigator and displays the instances that the data set contains.

You can use the dynamic shortcut menu to edit the instances:

  • Create Child: Creates a child instance.
  • Edit Instance: Opens an attribute editor.
  • Create Instance: Creates a sister instance and then opens the attribute editor.
Click Save to save your edits. Click the Check Name button in the attribute editor, which opens after you create a new instance, to check whether the specified name already exists. The SUD dialog boxes used are located in the files InstanceEditor.sud and AttributeEditor.sud. The _ModelUtils.vbs script provides additional functions.
