Accessing CGI Examples in the Internet Toolkit

Primary Software: LabVIEW Toolkits>>Internet Developers Toolkit
Primary Software Version: 6.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: LabVIEW Toolkits>>Enterprise Connectivity Toolset

Problem: How do I find LabVIEW examples for CGI scripting with the Internet Toolkit?

Solution: With LabVIEW 7.0 and above there are a number of CGI examples included with the Internet (Enterprise) Connectivity Toolkit. The built in G Web Server is used to access and use these examples. Follow the steps below to configure the G server and access the examples.
  1. Configure the G Web Server:
    1. Check to see if the G Server is correctly configured.
    2. In LabVIEW go to the dropdown menu - Tools » Internet Toolkit » G Web Server Configuration.
    3. Make sure the Document Root is correct: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.1\www.
Note: If LabVIEW and the toolkit are installed in their default folders, this will not need to be changed.
    4. Click Done. If prompted, save changes (This will update the VIs to your current version of LabVIEW).

  2. Start the G Web Server
    1. In LabVIEW, go to Tools » Internet Toolkit » Start G Web Server...

  3. Access CGI Examples
    1. Open a web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox).
    2. Browse to http://localhost.
The Internet Toolkit webpage should appear with links to CGI examples and other Internet Toolkit information.
