Extra Pulse Generated By NI PCIe-8255R When Using Close FPGA VI Reference

Primary Software: LabVIEW Modules>>FPGA Module
Primary Software Version: 1.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: Driver Software>>NI-IMAQdx
Hardware: Image Acquisition (IMAQ)>>Digital Image Devices>>PCIe-8255R

Problem:
I am generating a pulse train from my NI PCIe-8255R.  When I close the FPGA reference to my device it generates an unexpected extra pulse.  Why is this happening, and how do I prevent it?

Solution:
The default setting of the Close FPGA Reference VI is to reset the FPGA.  The NI PCIe-8255R generates a digital pulse when the FPGA resets.  To prevent the generation of this pulse, right-click on the Close FPGA VI Reference and select Close.  Now the FPGA reference will not reset when the FPGA reference is closed, and the PCIe-8255R will not generate an extra pulse.
