Installing Measurement Studio 8.0 for Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 over the Previous Version can Result in Loss of Analysis Functionality

Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Controllers

Problem:
I have Measurement Studio 7.1 support for Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 and I upgraded to Measurement Studio 8.0 support for Visual Studio 2003. I have some executables that were built using Measurement Studio 7.1 that used the Measurement Studio 7.1 Analysis class libraries. After upgrading, I get errors when running the executables. How can I get my Measurement Studio 7.1 executables to work?

Solution:
This issue occurs when you install Measurement Studio 8.0—without installing the Analysis feature—on a system with a prior version of the Analysis feature, and then subsequently execute an install modification on Measurement Studio 8.0 and choose to add the Analysis feature.

You can rebuild the application project with Measurement Studio 8.0 so that it uses the new Analysis class library, or you can complete the following steps to restore the Analysis class library functionality from the previous version on your system:
  1. Select Start»Control Panel to launch the Control Panel dialog box.
  2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
  3. Select National Instruments Software and click Change.
  4. Select Measurement Studio 8.0 and click Modify. The installer launches in Modify mode.
  5. In the Features dialog box, select to display all features, including hidden features.
  6. Select the Legacy Analysis feature under the Measurement Studio .NET Languages Support Analysis section to install the Analysis class library support.
  7. Click Next. Follow the dialog boxes to complete the installer.
