Time-Out Error with GigE Vision Camera Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-IMAQdxPrimary Software Version: 3.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: Why do I get a time-out error when trying to do a snap or grab with my GigE Vision camera? Solution: Since GigE uses a network connection, Windows Firewall can block the camera information through the Ethernet port which will result in a time-out error. In order to allow access for the GigE camera, either Windows Firewall can be turned off, or an exception can be made for the specific port. If the computer connects to the network via wireless or a separate local area network connection, the Advanced tab in the Windows Firewall configuration allows the Windows Firewall to be enabled or disabled for individual connections. The attached link gives detailed instructions for how to configure Windows Firewall.
