Why Doesn't the CAN1 Port Work on my NI-9853 cRIO CAN Module?

Hardware: Industrial Communications>>CAN>>NI 9853

Problem:
I am not able to use the CAN1 port of my NI-9853 cRIO CAN module. The CAN0 port works fine. When I try to access CAN1, I get general communication errors or errors saying the VISA Alias is not found.

Solution:
The most common cause of problems with the CAN1 port on the NI-9853 is that the CAN1 port requires power supplied from the CAN BUS. This means that if you do not supply power to the CAN1 port, it will not function. The CAN0 port draws its power from the cRIO backplane. The module was designed in this manner because if both of the CAN ports drew the power from the cRIO backplane, they would pull more power than what is allowed for a cRIO module.

The pinout for the CAN1 port shows a Vsup connection. This Vsup line should be connected to a +8V to +25V voltage supply. There is a diagram on the side of the module that shows the pinout and how to connect the Vsup.
