Can I Measure Signals From My Switch Module Through the PXI Backplane? Hardware: Switches
Problem: I have many signals going into my switch module and I want to measure them with my DMM. Can I measure these signals directly off the backplane? Solution: It is not possible to connect your signals to the DMM via the PXI backplane because the PXI backplane is a digital communication bus. The analog voltage signals cannot be mapped to these lines because the backplane is not rated to handle the same high voltage signals that our switch and DMM modules are designed to handle. Our PXI modules and terminal blocks are designed to have all connections made on the front side of the switch modules with digital communication (including trigger signals) being reserved for the backplane. For more information about PXI systems, please see some of the related links below. Please refer to the NI Switches Help documentation for device specific topologies and connections.
