Can I Use Object-Oriented Programming in LabVIEW?

Primary Software: LabVIEW Development Systems>>Full Development System
Primary Software Version: 8.2
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: LabVIEW Toolkits>>Graphical Object-Oriented Programming Toolkit

Problem: Can I use object-oriented programming techniques in LabVIEW?

Solution:

LabVIEW 8.20 and later: LabVIEW offers native objected-oriented programming constructs. Refer to the Upgrade Advisor to upgrade to the newest version of LabVIEW. For more information on object-oriented programming in LabVIEW refer to the related links below.

LabVIEW 8.0 and earlier: Third party object-oriented programming tools for LabVIEW 8.0 and earlier are available. National Instruments and Endevo have developed a methodology for performing Graphical Object-Oriented Programming, or GOOP (linked below). Using GOOP, you can take advantage of the benefits of object-based design and development. Adding the class and object concepts from other object-oriented languages to LabVIEW, you can build your own components.
