AVI Stops Writing When Laptop Lid is Closed

Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-IMAQ
Primary Software Version: N/A
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
Why does my VI stop writing frames to an AVI file when I close the lid of my laptop?

Solution:
When the lid of a Windows laptop is closed, some of the built-in Windows compression filters are halted. An example of one such filter is the Microsoft Video 1 filter. When this happens, LabVIEW will be stuck at the IMAQ AVI Write Frame VI.

A solution to this problem is to use another compression filter that is not halted when the laptop lid is closed. One such filter is the DV Video Encoder. To find out what compression filters are available on your computer, use the AVI Get Filter Names VI. Also, refer to the AVI Compression Comparison example for help in deciding which compression filter will give you the desired performance.
