Error -7 When Building an Executable in LabVIEW 8 with Sound and Vibration Toolkit VIsPrimary Software: LabVIEW Toolkits>>LabVIEW Sound and Vibration ToolsetPrimary Software Version: 4.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: I have an application that uses some Sound and Vibration Toolkit (SVT) VIs and when I try to build it into an executable, I get error -7 and nothing is built. This only happens in LabVIEW 8, as I never saw it in previous versions. In the window describing the error one or more of the following messages can be seen:
What is causing this error and how can I build my executable? Solution: In LabVIEW 8, the application builder checks the help file paths of all the VIs in the executable to make sure that they are valid. In previous versions, this did not happen. Some of the SVT VIs have invalid help paths which causes this error. Since SVT and the Order Analysis Toolkit (OAT) share some VIs, you could also see this same behavior when building an executable with OAT. In order to correct the problem, you can run the attached utility which will modify the help paths and allow you to build an executable. This problem will be fixed in future versions of LabVIEW, SVT, and OAT. The following KnowledgeBase provides other solutions for addressing this issue.
